Alouettes Maul Blue Bombers To Remain Atop CFL Standings

By Ross Everett

The Montreal Alouettes demonstrated the form that has made them the CFLs top team in a Saturday visit to Winnipeg. Anthony Calvillo threw four touchdown passes and the tenacious Montreal defense all but shut down the Winnipeg offense as the Alouettes prevailed easily over the Blue Bombers by a 39-12 score. The Alouettes improved to 6-1 in CFL play, while the Bombers dropped to 2-5.

CFL bettors who backed Montreal cashed their tickets as the Als easily covered as -8 road favorites. Montreal improved to 5-2 against the number while the Blue Bombers slipped to 4-3 against the spread. Interestingly, this was the first time all season that Winnipeg failed to cover as an underdog, having earned the money in four such roles this season before tonights setback.

Calvillo not only through four TD passes, he through three consecutive passes for touchdowns which is a feat that he cant recall accomplishing before:

"Somebody mentioned that to me out there. I didn't realize that and they asked me if it's ever been done or if I'd done it before and I can't recall."

After the game, Calvillo gave all of the credit for the victory to the defense and insisted that his team had a lot of work to do:

"Our defence put us on the short field throughout the night and we capitalized on the turnovers. We have a lot of work to do. We had a few dropped passes, a few misreads by myself and two turnovers. We're always looking to improve and we definitely have to improve on offence."

Kerry Watkins caught one of Calvillos touchdowns and spoke of playing with the CFL legend in his postgame interview:

"It's a great accomplishment, but something we don't keep track of. It's an honour. That's a living legend. I've been so fortunate to play my whole (six-year) career with him."

Bombers head coach Mike Kelly, who also serves as the teams offensive coordinator, suggested that there was nothing wrong with the offensive tactics:

"There's nothing wrong with this scheme. I've seen this scheme work 1,000 times .If you want to get right down to it, we have to block when we need to block and catch when we need to catch and throw to the right people. And right now we're not doing those things so we'll continue to look at it."

Winnipeg defensive tackle Doug Brown agreed with his coachs assessment:

"Let's put it this way, we were in a good enough dogfight without as many critical errors as we made ourselves. You play a team of this calibre, the last thing you need to do is dig yourself your own hole with penalties and turnovers and missed tackles and not executing our assignments and so on and so forth."

Both teams return to action next Friday night, as Montreal hosts the Saskatchewan Rough Riders and Winnipeg heads out on the road to play the BC Lions.

Grossman Shines As Texans Beat Bucs

By Ross Everett

The Houston Texans produced a 17 point outburst in the second quarter and went on to beat the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-20 in the NFL preseason finale for both teams. Rex Grossman carried the bulk of the workload for Houston, finishing with 197 yards and two touchdowns in an effort that likely secured him the #3 quarterback position on the Texans roster behind Matt Schaub and Dan Orlovsky. The Texans evened their NFL preseason record at 2-2, while the Bucs dropped to 1-3.

Houston rewarded their NFL betting backers by winning outright as a +3 road underdog. The 47 combined points went well OVER the posted total of 33. In fact, with 27 points scored in the first half the two teams came very close to topping that total in the opening two quarters alone.

After the game, Grossman was philosophical about his chances of making the team:

"I don't control any of that. All I wanted to do was go out and have a good game for either this team or somebody else. That's not up to me. I thought I did that, and we'll see what happens. I feel decent about my audition. If they cut me, then hopefully somebody else will pick me up."

Texans coach Gary Kubiak was was pleased with Grossman's effort:

"I was very impressed. You could see signs of that during camp, whenever he was working that first seven or eight days. Obviously he knows what this league's about. He knows how to make plays. He was ready to play."

When asked specifically about Grossmans chances of making the team, Kubiak was very noncommittal about cutting the roster down to 53 players:

"I don't know. ... We've got to look at a lot of things. It's a tough process, that 53 situation, so we'll see. He sure as heck helped himself."

On the other side of the field, the game was the NFL debut of Greg Olson as the Bucs' offensive coordinator. Olson was promoted Thursday when Jeff Jagodzinski was sacked as the teams offensive mastermind after a sluggish output in the preseason.

After the game, Bucs head coach Raheem Morris was pleased with the performance of #1 draft pick Josh Freeman, wholl likely end up as the teams third string QB. Freeman threw two interceptions in one half of play, but also dished out a touchdown pass and earned his coachs praise:

"He came out a little shaky. He had to make a couple of great scrambles there, make a couple of good third-down conversions to end that thing with a two-minute drive to get us in the end zone It's what you want to see. You want to see these guys play better every time you go out there."

The Texans will kick off the NFL regular season at home, hosting the New York Jets on Sunday. Theyll take to the road the next weekend, taking on the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. Tampa will host the Dallas Cowboys in their opening contest of the NFL 2009 regular season.

A Game Players Guide To The Diablo 3 Wizard Skill Tree

By Tj Robertson

For many people out there today that are interested to know more about the Diablo 3 Wizard skill tree here you can find a helpful guide. The wizard is a very powerful character in Diablo 3 with a lot of new characteristics and abilities. As you progress through every level you gain more talents and skill along the way. Anyone starting out on your journey playing the Wizard in Diablo 3 will certainly have fun in the game with all it's hidden treasures and adventures that await.

As a wizard, like the other characters in the game there's numerous skills you progress through during game play. Each of the spells have their own unique attack methods and effects through each tier you move through. One of them is the charged bolt that shoots out numerous electrical bolts in multiple directions. This damages those nearby monsters that are not immune to electricity in larger numbers.

As any new player can see there are a few skills that are available at each tier you reach. Each one becomes available as you move through them during the game play. Each one of them can be quite different from the prior in their way of attacking, whether it's a defensive or offensive attack. The tier 3 skills offers the player an electrocution attack for those enemies that dodge your melee attacks. This type of attack is a concentration of electricity that's directed at a single monster giving you the advantage to make a lot of damage.

When you move up the ladder gaining skill points and strength, the enemies also get harder to kill. This is why it's a good idea to put your skill points where they count the most. While you can increase any skill you want as much as you want it may be wise to save some skill points for the later. This way you can apply them to the latter categories that unveil the more powerful talents.

Once you reach level 4 you will see that like the prior versions of Diablo there is a blizzard skill. This causes a rain of ice shards to come from the sky causing cold damage to those vulnerable. The damage per second increases as you gain more skill points and apply them helping you turn your enemies to ice.

The Diablo 3 Wizard skill tree has a great assortment of skill that each player can obtain. While each talent in each tier has it's own characteristics, it's sure to be an adventure playing and moving up the tree. The Wizard has proven to be a master or magic which will prove to be a powerful player in the long waited game of Diablo 3.

Portland Acquires Marcus Camby

By Ross Everett

The Portland Trailblazers have needed a big inside presence ever since starting center Greg Oden and backup Joel Pryzbilla went down with season ending injuries. They finally found one on Tuesday as they acquired veteran Marcus Camby from the Los Angeles Clippers. Camby is expected to make his debut in a Blazers' uniform on Friday when Portland hosts the Boston Celtics.

The transaction also served to answer the nagging question about Portland's point guard situation. Steve Blake and Andre Miller have shared time running the offense, but Blazers' management apparently felt that Miller was a better fit with superstar shooting guard Brandon Roy. Ironically, until Miller picked up a lot of the offense slack lately with Roy on the shelf with a hamstring injury the presumption was that he'd be the one heading elsewhere as the NBA trade deadline approached.

All three players involved are in the final year of their current contract, meaning that barring anything unforeseen Camby's career in Portland will probably last only 23 games plus the playoffs. Outlaw and Blake may or may not fit into the Clippers longterm plans-assuming that one of the NBA's most consistently underachieving teams actually has 'longterm plans' in the first place.

Camby was introduced to the Rose Garden crowd during Portland's rout of his old team, the LA Clippers receiving a standing ovation. Earlier, he'd indicated that he was excited to be going to the Blazers:

"I think it's a great situation for myself. It's a first-class organization that really takes care of their own. I hope I can bring my knowledge of the game, and blend in these last 27 games. I'm really excited to be here."

He talked about the strange situation of actually being in Portland when the trade went down:

"I only brought one change of clothes. It's been a real rough, rough 24 hours for me, but real exciting at the same time."

Camby also said that he's interesting in staying in 'Rip City' longterm:

"Hopefully things work out for myself and work out for the team. Hopefully they have plans for me in the long term."

Portland GM Kevin Pritchard added:

"We are very excited to bring an experienced big man of Marcus' caliber to the team and we feel he'll help us a great deal down the stretch run. He's a fierce competitor and has been one of the league's best defensive players for quite some time."

The 35 year old Camby has long been considered one of the NBA's best defensive big men. Despite playing on a LA Clippers team well off the playoff pace in the Western Conference, he's second in the league in rebounds with 12.1 per game.

Keeping Gift Wrapping Green

By Jamie Boyce

We all spend a lot of time finding the right gifts for the ones we love, but when it comes to the wrapping, not so much. Spend a little time and plan to create something special for the outside and keep it eco-friendly.

When the holidays arrive, I start spending time thinking about what I'm going to use to wrap my presents this year and start gathering my materials. On my list is; as always the old glue gun, must have glitter and glitter paint, of corse pipecleaners, craft glue, fine wire, and spray paint, all in an endeavor to rid the package of the bow. It's been a long time since I bought a bag of bows, but have used some store bought orniments, twigs, dry leaves and flowers, pinecones, acorns, pieces of evergreen tree and anything else I can pick from my backyard.

Allow me to share a few of my favorites.

Brown paper and raffeta is a simple, charming and versatile base for your gifts. Adorned with natural holly, gilded seashells or a few feathers, the presentation can go from whimsical to festive or even echo a common theme. I have spray painted and used all sorts of natural materials from the yard or the nearby parks with gold, silver and other popular holiday colors. Dry magnolia leaves look terrific in gold, while pinecones are quite eye-catching in silver. 'Red' acorns or palm nuts become oversized holly berries when paired with rough edged dry leaves sprayed green. Attach to your wrapped package with a hot glue gun and you are ready to impress.

Newspaper, lightly dusted with spray paint can be transformed into stunning wrap. Add just a few sprigs of Christmas tree or maybe fern for your bow, or maybe some old orniments that were going to the trash and presto a pretty present. Using jingle bells and holly or a fancy reusable cord for a bit of whimsy, or glittered up fabric ribbon and silk flowers can create drama. Most of all don't be afraid to try out different color and texture combinations to achieve that special look. Last year I came acrossed a jug of bottle caps and some bags of beads. I used a little spray paint on the caps and attached the beads to create reusable orniments. They were also used to decorate my presents. So you see, your can just about change anything into a holiday decoration.

Last years Christmas cards can be cut down to make gift tags for this year. Pictures from holiday catalogues can be glued to card stock and glittered up to solve the tag dilemma, adding another element to your pretty present.

Whatever inspires your personal touch, just remember to enjoy. The holidays can be stressful, take a walk... maybe you'll just find the perfect pinecone. -----------------------------------------------

Gift wrap in the U.S. turns into 40 million tons of trash every year. Check out these websites for additional creative ideas.

How One Can Choose Foldable Trailers

By Clive Hunt

A person who frequently transports large items like a canoe, large lawn equipment or camping equipment will often need a foldable trailer to help tow this equipment. Many of these trailers have features that are alike. But, with a little investigation, one can find distinctive features that can help one decide which foldable trailers are the best trailers to choose.

Make sure the trailer assembles easily. Some trailers require little more than a pair of pliers and a wrench for assembly. The most convenient trailers can usually be completely assembled in less than 2 hours. Also, check out the center-tongue. Look for a trailer with a strong center-tongue for towing. This is also a very safe feature.

Another convenient feature is tie-down brackets. They will help secure an individuals load. Some trailers will allow the use of either steel or wooden stake ties. And pre-drilled holes in the frame are also a convenient feature. One can easily fasten material for a floor to the unit.

One thing to check out when choosing a trailer is the ease of loading and unloading the unit. Be sure the trailer is easy to load and unloaded. Also check to see if the trailer will be easy to store. This is an important feature for people who will be storing the unit in a compact area such as a garage or shed.

Also, check to see if the trailer comes with a certificate of origin. Every trailer must be registered with the department of motor vehicles of the state before it can travel on the road. A certificate of origin will make the registration procedure of the trailer much easier. Without this certificate, the registration process can potentially be severely delayed.

The availability of replacement parts is very important. A simple flat tire can potentially render a trailer out of commission. Replacement parts should be easy to find and readily available in order to keep the trailer on the road. These features are important to consider when one chooses foldable trailers.

Patriots' Offensive Balance Too Much For Falcons

By Ross Everett

After an erratic start to the 2009 NFL regular season, the New England Patriots have finally found some balance to their offense. Tom Brady had carried all of the weight in the Pats first two regular season games due to their one dimensional offense, but on Sunday he received some long overdue help from running back Fred Taylor who ran for 105 yards. As a result, the Patriots dominated the time of possession battle holding onto the ball for nearly 40 minutes en route to a 26-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

NFL betting enthusiasts who backed the Patriots as -4 home favorites cashed their tickets with the 16 point victory. It was New England's first ATS triumph of the season, while Atlanta lost to the money for the first time in the 2009 campaign. The 36 combined points scored went UNDER the total of 45.

Rushing star Taylor talked about the importance of a balanced offense:

"You want to be balanced going into games, but some situations don't allow for it. You want to establish that momentum and look over across the ball and see the frustration in the defensive guys' eyes."

New England was also very effective on defense, holding the Falcons Tony Gonzalez to one catch early in the fourth quarter. Afterwards, Gonzalez talked about the Patriots defensive scheme:

"They did the same thing they always do to me, 'bracket coverage. If I get single coverage I am going to make them pay for it eventually."

New England safety Brandon McGowan joked that the plan was to hold Gonzalez without any catches:

"The plan was for him to not have any catches and he had one so obviously the plan failed."

Patriots running back Sammy Morris said it was simply a matter of making plays:

"We were making plays in the second half we weren't making in the previous weeks. It was directly related to making the third-and-shorts and fourth-and-shorts. The offense is able to stay on the field and you're able to get more things accomplished."

The Falcons will enjoy a bye weekend before returning to action on the road against the San Francisco 49ers on October 11th. Theyll host the Chicago Bears the following Sunday before playing the Cowboys at Dallas. New England will host the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday. New England will play at Denver the following weekend before returning home to take on the Tennessee Titans.

Redskins Offense A Mess Under New Play Caller Lewis

By Ross Everett

The Washington Redskins are a mess right now. Head coach Jim Zorn has a tenuous hold on his job at best and after Sunday's---6 loss to Kansas City was stripped of his offensive play calling duties. Management installed newly hired 'offensive consultant' Sherman Lewis as the new offensive play caller and the team has set up an awkward arrangement for him to get the plays to the quarterbacks. For that reason, starting QB Jason Campbell has some serious misgivings about the efficacy of the setup.

Lewis has only been out of retirement and with the team for two weeks, and has spent this week trying to ingest a crash course on the Redskins' offensive schemes. While he was learning on the job, head coach Zorn was trying to put the best spin possible on the situation':

"I need to have composure. I need to understand what the reality of the situation is, and I think our players expect me to rise up. We expect them to play under adverse conditions. We expect them to risk it all. ... I'm conscious of what's going on. I'm not naive about what's going on, and yet I have to just hold back on any feelings and make the decisions."

Quarterback Campbell is more concerned about the convoluted system of getting plays from Lewis to him:

"There'll probably be a couple of plays I have in my head just in case if some reason it doesn't get in on time."

Here's how things are supposed to work-Lewis will sit in the coaches' box above the field and read the plays off a sheet. While Lewis has years of experience working in the so called 'West Coast Offense', Zorn left doubt that he really knows what he's doing at this point stressing that Lewis "doesn't know the protections" and "doesn't know the blitz schemes." Nevertheless, he'll be running the offense when the Redskins take on Philadelphia this Monday night.

Once Lewis figures out what to call, that's when it really gets tricky. He'll relay the plays via headset not to Zorn but to offensive coordinator Sherman Smith. Smith will then inform the quarterback what to run. Zorn is left in the role of a passive bystander on offense, though he will listen in to the playcalling on his headset.

Backup quarterback Todd Collins also shared his concern with the new arrangement:

"It is unsettling. I've never gone through this before. I've never had a play caller get changed in the middle of the season."

Lewis didn't exactly evoke a lot of confidence upon his hiring, where he revealed that he'd been calling bingo games at a seniors' center to kill time since his retirement in 2004. Still, Collins gave him a guarded vote of confidence;

"I know he's been studying last year's game against the Eagles and seems to have a pretty good idea how he wants to call the game this week. It's the same plays. He might coach them a little differently or highlight some different areas, but the offense hasn't gone under an overhaul or anything like that."

The Redskins haven't scored more than 17 points in a game this season, so maybe the thinking is that things can't get any worse. The NFL odds for Monday Night's game show the Eagles a -7 road favorite with the total set at 37'.

Controlling Weeds In An Organic Garden

By Angela MacMahon

Weeds are the bane of any gardener, but they can be especially bothersome to organic gardeners. Many gardeners choose to use weed killer to get rid of weeds, but you can't do that in an organic garden. So what can you do?

Well, you'll need to identify your most troublesome weed, and then deal with it in the way that best gets rid of that particular type of weed. Below are some example of common weeds and how to get rid of them.

One of the worst offenders is dandelion. Most gardeners want to get rid of them although there are some who chose to grow them for their greens. You need to dig out the entire taproot if you want to get rid of dandelions.

Pull them up with a hoe before they flower. And you can spread corn gluten over the areas you wish to remain free from dandelions in the early spring. A lot of seedlings will be kept from growing.

Crabgrass is a major pest in many yards and gardens. Besides being tough to pull up, it's especially hard to get rid of. What you need to do is pull up the entire plant as well as its roots. To suppress further growth, spread down corn gluten in the early spring. You can also mulch to prevent the seeds from germinating.

Poison ivy is a horrible plant. Even with very mild exposure, terrible rashes can be caused. You should always wear gloves when handling this plant, and don't ever let it touch any part of your skin.

Let it dry out completely once you've cut the plant at the base. Throw away the vines or bury them. Don't burn poison ivy because the smoke can be fatal. Don't compost it either.

Lamb's quarters is an edible wild green. Some people grow these for food, but most people think of them as common weeds. It's difficult to get rid of them. You can hoe or pull up the plants when you see them. To suppress the seedlings, you should mulch heavily.

Ragweed is a plant that many people want to get rid of. Aside from being a common allergen, the pollen also causes hay fever. Dig up the seedlings and mow down full grown plants. To cover the areas where it grows, you need to mulch. If it hasn't yet gone to seed, you can compost ragweed.

An edible plant is purslane. You can remove individual plants by hoeing. If you pull the plants and leave them lying on top of the soil, they can re-root themselves. The seeds of this plant can mature after the plant has been pulled, so don't compost them. To prevent them from growing, try to mulch them.

Prickly lettuce is a little plants that's known to be annoying. Always wear gloves when you handle it because it causes itching and burning if it comes in contact with skin. What you can do is pull or hoe the plants or cut the taproot below the soil.

It can carry lettuce diseases even if it can attract beneficial insects. You need to keep it away from your lettuce patches. Keep cocklebur away from your animals since it's poisonous to livestock. You can hoe or pull plants beneath the soil line. It's still possible to compost it if it hasn't gone to seed.

The Best Point and Shoot Digital Camera ever

By Alfonso Camera

I've sought after the best point and shoot digital camera, and I believe I found it. It has all the qualities that make a point and shoot great - hdr, low-light handling, image-stabilization, etc etc. The camera I will to point out to you to is a little better, over all, than my previous camera, which is also fantastic, and I'll teach you about that one as well, as it also has many fantastic features.

Some of the most important features I aim for in the best digital point and shoot cameras are first of all optical zoom, close-up macro, image-stabilization, high-dynamic-range (HDR), size and weight. There are several other features, but these are some of the most important to me as they facilitate taking gorgeous images in almost environment.

Are you all set to hear about the best point and shoot cameras, as I deem them? There are 2 cameras that are close competitors. The Sony Cyber-shot HX5 and, closely behind , the Panasonic Lumix ZS7. They usual cost around $219-$349, but I'll show you where you can buy them for cheap, and with great extras included, and with low-cost shipping. But first, we should mention why these digital cameras are the best point and shoots.

The great thing about the Sony Cyber-shot HX5 is that it has it all -- 10 times optical zoom, 25mm ultra-wide angle lens, GPS, auto panoramic mode (that goes beyond 270 degrees, image stabilization, a small frame, easy to use, very light weight and cheaper than the Panasonic Lumix ZS7.

The Panasonic camera is superior in that it has 12x zoom and is debatably better given its Leica lens, but it lacks the new panoramic sweep mode and is a little larger and heavier. However, the Lumix is about $80 cheaper compared to the Sony HX5.

These 2 cameras are the best point and shoot digital cameras. Choose between them depending on how much you are looking to drop, confident that, either way, you will have the best point and shoot digital camera at that price.

Family trip Right Now

By April Snyder

Wouldn't it be great if we could, all of a sudden, make a spur-of-the-moment decision to go on a nice vacation? Last-minute booking was often difficult in the past because of the higher prices you had to pay for the privilege. But fortunately, it's now possible to book a vacation on short notice and still get a terrific deal. Below are some easy tips to booking a cheap vacation at the last minute:

2)The low travel season is the perfect time to book your vacation on short notice if you're looking to save money. The same vacation package will often be 10 percent cheaper during the low travel season than it would if you purchased it when everybody is vacationing. Have a hankering to visit Paris, London, Spain, Athens, Barcelona, or Frankfurt? You can with the excellent European packages that are available. While winter is the best time to take an inexpensive European tour, traveling to Mexico or Hawaii during the summer months is the best time to save money.

Homemade Candies - An Introduction to the Molds that give them Shape

By Kim Montgomery

Candy molds are very significant components in making home candies. The reason behind this is because they give shape and shape to candies. The absence of candy molds will not give your candies any appearance. Do you know Slimer from the Ghostbusters? Your candies will look like Slimer if you do not use any candy molds.

Indeed, the exterior and presentation of your Homemade Candies will matter and you will need to procure the right candy molds for this so that your candies will give off the right charm.
Molds are generally made from silicon and there are some that are made from plastic. There are also some made from metal but these are generally much more expensive than the two that were just mentioned. Silicon molds are the most durable out of the three are very flexible too. Your next best option for selection would be the metal molds.

Flexibility may not be their best trait but they can withstand the heat of the candy mixture. If the candy mixture sticks to the surface of the metal molds, apply a small amount of butter to the cavities and this should do the trick. Homemade Candies cannot hold on to grease and applying butter will make their elimination so much easier. With the sheet of tray that you will use to collect the finished product, the same must be done.

Plastic molds are the cheapest and the easiest to acquire out of the three. They are different from metal and silicon molds. The kind of candy that you are making will be play a key role in determining what candy mold to use.

So where can we buy these molds? The local grocery store should be able to give you some answers. Most grocery stores sell basic candy molds with common shapes. For uniquely shaped candy molds, you will need to go online. There are sites that sell molds shaped liked dog paws and so many more.

With everything that was mentioned you should always put into minds that only your thoughts can limit the style of your molds for your Homemade candies. If you want the normal shaped ones, go to your local grocery store but if you are looking for the uniquely shaped one, the internet is the source to go to or you can ask a local expert in candy making

Healthy Thanksgiving Recipe

By Dr Kevin Johnston

Healthy Recipes on Thanksgiving...does this sound unusual and uninteresting?

When we think of all the oily and health hazards recipes something like stuffed turkey, rich creamy sauce, the buttered mashed potatoes as well as pumpkin pies, then the word healthy is not a good adjective to be used with them. So why not give a try to something which is nourishing and delicious too?

For my family, Thanksgiving Day is a very important day and we celebrate it in a remarkable manner by inviting friends and relatives for the dinner. So for this Thanksgiving Day special, i invented few ideas which i am going to share with you in this article. I like experimenting with different kinds of ingredients plus flavors. Do not worry...nothing new I am going to do...just few modifications to the regular Thanksgiving recipes.

Here are a few changes which I did in the normal Thanksgiving Day menu:

Turkey: turkey is considered to be a delicacy and can become the attractive menu of your holiday meal or any other celebration like Thanksgiving Day. Turkey is an extremely lean animal plus contains less fat. But when you basted it in butter, it tends to be caloric as well as fatty food. So what Idid here, inspite of using butter, I basted the turkey with olive oil and then baked it. With this slight variation, my turkey came out extremely delicious plus healthy too.

Bread: usually we make bread with white flour.. But I chose to make with wheat flour and thus i serve the bread with baked turkey.

Good Gravy: you know gravy is one of the principal culprits on the dinner table. Instead of using turkey drippings, i used the vegetable oil while making the gravy. You can also make low-fat broth-based gravy or any vegeterian gravy.

Dessert: dessert is considered to be the last but not the least course of the meal. Inspite of making pies and cheesecakeswhich are most often loaded with creams, nuts as well as caramel, I relied on serving fresh fruits as a dessert menu.

Another modification I did in my Thanksgiving dinner menu is the utilization of leftover ham. I made Ham and Swiss Rosti. Rosti is actually a Swiss potato pancake which can be served as a side dish but I used the ham and change it into an easy and mouth-watering Thanksgiving dinner menu. You can actually enjoy the dish with boiled asparagus as well as applesauce on the side.

This year it was comfortable for me to develop some variations in my Thanksgiving menu. I just experimented with some changes and it was a hit. Why don't you guys try and impress your family then?

A Pitching Machine is a Baseball Player's Best Friend

By Aaron Kern

A pitching machine can do wonders. If you have a baseball player in the family, getting a pitcher's machine is a good idea. Professional players or aspiring players should get a machine for it could enhance their skill and could go beyond their limitation.

A machine provides consistency. Batters are rarely ever good in hitting every kind of ball throw. Hitting specific kinds of throw whether a curve ball a fast ball or a slide could be problematic. A machine that can repeatedly shell out a specific throw can help batters get over their weaknesses.

Machines also support pitchers. Letting batters practice with actual pitchers can wear out a pitcher. Hence, a reliable machine can help supplement training with a pitcher. In general, training with a machine and a pitcher can develop a well rounded batter.

Pitching units protect young batters. Because pitching machines deliver balls consistently in one direction and at a specific speed, players are least likely to get hit by errant balls. This is rather beneficial especially when there are many beginners on the team or if a player is a newbie.

Machine types differ. The first consideration that you need to have in mind is the age and skill of players. Kids below twelve years old would do well with a machine that doesn't throw real baseballs. What these machines deliver are small, lightweight balls. They also often pitch balls at a slower speed which is what young players would most likely prefer initially. One problem with this type of pitching machine is that the lightweight balls do get affected by wind strength and direction.

There are machines for older kids. Players who are above twelve years can start using machines that throw real balls. You can adjust a specific type of throw you want either you want it slow or fast.

Single wheel machines are an alternative. This kind of machine has a single wheel at the side that rotates when balls are pitched. A single wheel machine usually throws at around 25 to 70 mph. Most single wheels however only release one type of ball throw. A couple of other models can pitch both regular balls and curveballs.

Double wheels are an alternative. Professional players opt this kind of machine because it can improve their skills in batting. For these players, a double wheel machine is a better choice. These machines can throw balls over 90 mph. Most double wheel units are also able to simulate a variety of different pitches. You just have to make the right control settings to get your desired pitch.

Machines can have extra features. An auto feeder is a must for players who prefer to train alone or who can't find an available assistant to help feed the balls. An inline control can also be essential. Batters can control a machine from where they are with this switch.

A player needs a pitching machine. Pitching machine can help develop player's skills in batting. It's crucial to chose the appropriate kind of machine for a specific type of age.

Broncos Defense Dominates Browns

By Ross Everett

After a horrible NFL preseason, the Denver Broncos have actually looked pretty good since starting the 2009 regular season campaign. On Sunday, the Broncos used a tough defense and QB Kyle Ortons efficient and mistake free play to top the Cleveland Browns 27-6.

Individuals with an interest in playing a bet on NFL football were rewarded by backing Denver as -3 home favorites, and the Broncos easily covered the pointspread. The Broncos are now 2-0 both straight up and to the number, while the Browns dropped to 0-2 straight up and against the spread.

Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil led the effort with four sacks in one half, tying a Denver franchise record. Veteran linebacker Andrea Davis marveled at his dubiously named teammates performance:

"Man, that was amazing. You don't see a guy get four sacks in one half. He really turned it on."

Dumervil maintained that hes still not 100% comfortable in the Broncos new defensive set:

"Yeah, I guess I'm a linebacker now. It's fun, though. I get to play linebacker and I still get to do what I love -- rush the passer. I've found my niche. ... It makes me a complete player."

Denver coach Josh McDaniels added his praise for Dumervil:

"You are reaching for him but he can get his hands on you first and he's got leverage and he can get underneath you and just push you back to the quarterback. His skills set is pretty much alone in this league."

Browns coach Eric Mangini dismissed suggestions that hed consider benching QB Brady Quinn, saying that he was looking for improvement throughout the entire team:

What I'm looking to do is play better across the board. The offense had nothing to do with the two long defensive plays. That's a risk you take when you blitz."

The Browns have scored only one touchdown in their last 33 quarters of football, while Denver has allowed only one touchdown so far this season.

Cleveland will face another tough defense on the road this weekend, heading to Baltimore for a game against the Ravens. The Browns are a +13 road underdog in that contest, with the total set at 38. Theyll return home to play in-state rival Cincinnati the following Sunday before traveling to upstate New York to face the Buffalo Bills on October 11th. Denver will play at Oakland this week, with the Broncos installed as -1 road favorites and the total set at 36.

Stan Mikita: Pro Hockey's Unsung Hero

By Ross Everett

While NHL hockey players from the country formerly known as Czechoslovakia"as well as other Eastern European nations"are commonplace today, Chicago Blackhawks great Stan Mikita was something of a pioneer. Other players with a flashier game such as Bobby Hull became better known, but you can make a compelling case that Mikita was the best center iceman in professional hockey during the'60s. Mikita was born in Sokolce, in what is now known as Slovakia. He was sent by his family to the Toronto, Ontario area as a young boy to avoid the political strife in the area prior to World War II. An aunt and uncle adopted him, and he changed his name from his birth name of Stanislav Guoth adopting their last name of Mikita. Like most young Canadian boys, he started playing hockey and quickly proved to have an impressive aptitude for the national sport.

He was a star in the juniors as a teenager, playing with the St. Catherine Teepees of the Ontario Hockey Association. By'60, he was a full time player for the NHL Chicago Blackhawks and would lead the team in playoff scoring during their Stanley Cup winning year of'61.

During the early and mid'60's, Mikita centered the Scooter Line with Ken Wharram on the right wing and Ab McDonald or Doug Mohns on the left wing, and earned a reputation as one of the most complete offensive players in the game. Bobby Hull may have been a bigger superstar among mainstream fans, but most hockey experts realized that Mikita was the team's true offensive catalyst.

Mikita wasn't a one way player by any means--he was a tenacious defender and one of the best faceoff men in the sport. He's also responsible for introducing the curved stick blade to the NHL. It was a radical innovation at the time, but now players who *don't* play with a curved blade are a rarity.

When he first came to the NHL, Mikita was a tough, hard hitting player who spent a considerable amount of time in the penalty box. That changed in the mid'60's when he became a very sportsmanlike player almost overnight. This cleaner style of play would earn him the Lady Byng Trophy for most gentlemanly player twice. The story goes that he had a change of heart when his young daughter asked why he spent so much time sitting in the box on televised games.

In addition to his Stanley Cup victory, Mikitas career accomplishments rank among the most impressive in the history of the sport. He won the Art Ross Trophy as the NHLs leading scorer four times (1964,'65,'67,'68), the Hart Memorial Trophy for Most Valuable Player twice (1967 and'68) and the Lady Byng Trophy in'67 and'68. He remains the only player in NHL history to win the Ross, Hart and Byng trophies in the same season (1967).

Mikita suffered from back injuries in his last years as an active player, finally retiring in'80. He played his entire career for the Chicago Blackhawks, and was voted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in'83. He became something of a trivia answer for a younger generation when a donut shop called 'Stan Mikita's Donuts' was featured in the popular movie 'Wayne'w World'.

Approved: Custom Rubber Stamps

By H. Reich

It's hard to make the case for buying custom rubber stamps, especially during this especially bleak economic time. For those of us who have worked in the corporate world -- or in the printing world for that matter -- the benefits of buying and using customized stamps are substantial. This is especially true when it comes to collating.

It seems natural that you would think the average $5,000 corporate printer would do everything you need it to do. Unfortunately, the best copier or printer is only as useful as the people using it. So, unless you have a receptionist or five-figure specialist on staff, most people will not know how to use the behemoth. This means you've wasted money on the copier and lost time and manpower in the process.

For instances, lets say you have twenty presentation packets for that annual stockholder meeting, your best bet is to, yes, use the printer to print the pages you need, and then use a customized stamp to mark them accordingly. This sounds old-fashioned, certainly, but it only takes a few stamps to teach someone how to collate. The rest should come rather naturally.

There are droves of laptop-toting hipsters out there who may be inclined to chuckle me away. But, I would like to point you to the best practices suggested by a 2006 communique from the Department of the Navy, in which it was made clear that the main obstacle to clear communication was a basic lack of understanding of mark-making. This means people don't understand what to do with a packet marked with a "Classified" stamp.

Keep this in mind: how secret would the Manhattan Project have been had all the memorandums not been marked with the "Ultra Top Secret" stamp? The stamp is power, dear reader. Thus, understanding how to mark informs what steps to take with the document in hand. This all stems from a deep-seated appreciation and decades-old use of the rubber stamp.

Bend stress with Aromatherapy Soy Candles

By Kim Montgomery

Candle making activity is a fun passion but it can be more fun if you are making aromatherapy candles. When I heard about the word 'aromatherapy', first thing that came into my mind is aroma and relaxation. What about you? What are the things that come into your mind?

Aromatherapy came from unstable plant oils including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being. Studies have proven that it facilitates the inflow of psychological and physical benefits when used appropriately and with precaution since essential oils include all pure oils originating from plants that have unpredictable tang based compounds.

I know you are confused with essential oils and aroma oils. Well, both are really different from each other. Though, both are used to produce great smells but they are different. Fragrance oils contain synthetic chemicals. Unlike essential oils, scent oil does not provide some therapeutic benefits and are artificial.

Now let's get back to aromatherapy candles, every time you make use of essential oils in making your candle, you unconsciously provide a soothing effect to your sense of smell which is the most unattended of all your senses. Essential oils can help facilitate the entrance of worry reducing agents. An aromatherapy candle, once lit can help take away work-related worries and put your mind at a state of ease It is amazing that just by lighting up your candle, you can take control of your health in a chemical-free manner.

The first step you need to undertake when you want to make aromatherapy candles is to find out what kind you want to make. I'd like to make a recommendation. Make aromatherapy soy candles. Why? Soy Wax is not costly, is all - pure, and not hard to clean up.

Agree with soy wax? Then we can start making your aromatherapy soy candles. If you experience making soy candles then you probably have your materials with you except that we are using essential oils instead of smell oils. If you haven't experienced making soy candles, you need soy wax, candle containers or molds, cotton wick, double boiler, essentials oils (of course, your choice) and optional candle dye (do not use food coloring or soap coloring)

Upon procurement of all the things you will need, you need to start dissolving the soy wax in the double boiler. 170 degrees is the ideal heat temperature. The second step is to add the candle dye in your candle. Add little by little until you reach the desired color then stir it up in two minutes using a wooden stick to blend the soy wax and the color dye. Stir in the essential oils and continue mixing for at a couple more minutes until it mixes in completely with the combination. The temperature should be at least 170 degrees to make sure that essential oils and the combination become one. . Essential oils are pretty sensitive and can burn if there is too much heat that is why you should always control the temperature.

Now, let's gear up the wick by dipping it with the container. . Now, put the combination inside of the container. Reduce the temperature to between 95 to 110. Pour it slowly and surely. Once you're finished, let the combination cool off. You have now crossed the finish line! Congratulations! You now have your finished product of aromatherapy soy candles. .
Upon cooling off, enjoy your aromatherapy soy candles along with its healthful benefits You can also consider giving it as a present to someone and let them feel its beauty. Take it easy and take pleasure in a worry free existence. I trust you'll be in love with your candle.

No one would refuse a chance to earn a bit more money than they are already bringing in, regardless of their financial circumstances, good or bad.

One great method of earning a bit more cash whenever you have some time is to take some paid surveys. If you take paid surveys, you will be earning money to say what you think, which is probably what you already do without getting paid for it all the time.

Give it some thought. Most of us offer family members and friends our opinion on various services and products free of charge on a regular basis.

Of course! You probably do this on a constant basis. However, these days, you can make some for telling people what you think, since manufacturers out there need to know.

In order to remain in business, companies need your opinions so they are willing to pay for them. They need to determine whether their products and services are meeting the needs and expectations of the consumer in order to operate profitably.

Your opinion as a consumer on everything from electronics and fashion to sporting equipment is a commodity for which companies will pay. Your opinion on just about anything you may have purchased in the previous 12 months can earn you money.

The Legacy Of Mexican Boxing Great Carlos Palomino

By Ross Everett

The US mainstream sports media likes to proclaim certain athletes as good or bad 'role models', but they're almost single minded in their obsession with winning. Great NBA players like John Stockton, or NFL players like Dan Marino are criticized for never having won 'the big one'.

At the same time, the mainstream sports media takes every opportunity available to bash boxing, but the reality is that the 'sweet science' more so than any other professional sport places a great emphasis on the quality of a fight as much as its eventual outcome. Fights like the Gatti-Ward trilogy, Hagler-Hearns, Hagler-Leonard are considered classics, and in most cases were very tightly contested bouts. A great case in point is the 2004 'fight of the year' between Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquaio. Despite nonstop action, the official verdict in the bout was a draw.

Fighters can even be criticized for not having any losses on their record. While the highest level fighters like Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Rocky Marciano are certainly exceptions, an undefeated record can often suggest a poor level of opponent as much as it does fistic superiority. A glossy won/loss record alone isn't enough to cement a legacy of greatness in the glorious history of boxing--that has to be earned inside the ring with heart, skill, toughness and character.

Carlos Palomino was a fighter who earned the respect and admiration of fight fans both for his championship skills as well as how he played the game. A native of Sonora, Mexico, Palomino was the welterweight champion of the world for over two years during the mid to late 70s. During this time, he became the first world champion boxer to earn a college degree (from Long Beach State University in California).

Palomino came to the US as a child and began to train as a fighter during his teenage years. After a stint in the Army (where he earned the All Army Welterweight Championship) and a National AAU title he turned pro in'72. Four years later, he become welterweight champion of the world by knocking out John Stracey in London, England. Palomino would defend his belt seven times over the next two years before losing it to another great, Wilfred Benetiz, via split decision. He retired from the ring shortly thereafter.

Palomino turned his attention to acting following his boxing career, and has worked steadily in a variety of roles both in movies (mostly forgettable action films) and television (shows like Taxi, Star Trek Voyager, Highway to Heaven and Hill Street Blues). He appeared in some of the early Miller Light tastes great/less filling TV commercials. Hes also done some live theater work, in addition to generating publicity for a number of charities.

In the ring, Palomino wasn't the typical Mexican fighter stereotype. He was an intelligent, very tactically sound fighter with underrated power and a lethal left hook. More typically, however, he was a fighter who'd break his opponent down slowly with a punishing body attack. Despite not being a typical straight ahead power puncher like so many of his countrymen, he's no doubt among the greatest Mexican boxers in history.

Using an Electronic Cigarette

By Larue Flor

Electronic cigarettes are really quite simple to use; although they certainly function a bit differently than traditional tobacco cigarettes, there's no question that anyone can get up and running with a brand new e-cig in minutes. The article shows you how to immediately begin using this product.

Gathering the required parts

Obviously, you'll need to open the box and unwrap all the pieces to get started. The majority of electronic cigarettes come with a battery charger, so you can get started right off. If you find your battery is completely drained, plug it in for a couple hours to charge and then come back to this walk-through.

The three primary components that should come together are a battery, atomizer and a cartridge. Locating those should be fairly easy. The battery is the long piece with an LED light on the end. The atomizer is probably the smallest item in the box with a small braided metallic thing sticking out of one end of it. Lastly, the cartridge, which holds the nicotine solution, is roughly the size of the filter on a normal cigarette. The cartridges can be uncovered at the end or possibly have a plastic cap or even a full foil covering. Go on and remove the cover, since this needs to be done before it can be put together.

Putting together the electronic cigarette

Assembling the electronic is simple when you have got all the pieces together. An atomizer normally attaches to one end of the battery, so go on and do this. With most brands, all you need to do is slide the open end of the cartridge over the tip of the metal-braided end of the atomizer.

Taking a drag

What you do next depends on whether you have an automatic or manual battery. If you find yourself to be uncertain, take a peek at the exterior of the battery - is there a tiny button there? If so, it's a manual battery, if not, it's automatic.

Those of you with automatic batteries can inhale lightly on the cartridge end of the assembled electronic cigarette after bringing it to your lips. Push the button on the battery as you breathe in if you have a manual battery. If you do this before a mirror, you can see if the LED at the end of the battery is coming on. If that doesn't work your battery probably needs recharging.

If the LED is lighting up but you're not getting any vapor, hit it for a few seconds, then wait a few seconds and hit it again. Sometimes it may take a bit for the nicotine solution to work its way up into the atomizer, so repeat this process 5-10 times.

If you are having trouble getting any vapor, trying inhaling a bit harder, but it is not necessary to inhale any harder than a tobacco cigarette.

By now there should be good vapor production. New atomizers often have an odd taste at first, and they typically take about a day to break in and get working properly. That's normal and should wear off in about a day.

If you're still not getting any vapor production, slide the cartridge off the atomizer. Is the atomizer wick (that braided metal thing) a little damp? There is supposed to be some nicotine solution on it. It is is wet and you don't have a vapor, your atomizer might be dead. Nicotine solution may not be getting up to the atomizer like it should if it is not damp.

Probing the inside of the cartridge with a small implement like tweezers should reveal a small ball of fabric about the size of the head of a q-tip. The nicotine solution should moisten the fabric. However, if that isn't the case, then there is nothing inside of the cartridge.

If everything checks out, and there is still no vapor, then you will need to phone the place you bought it from and have it replaced.

A Review of Call of Duty Black Ops

By Christina Francis

Fans from the Call of Duty franchise certainly won't end up disappointed by Treyarch and Activision's seventh release of the CoD franchise. Released for the X-Box 360, PC, Nintendo Wii and DS, and Ps3, Black Ops is a first-person shooter that plays out during the Cold War, giving you the option from a broad range of weapons, including exciting new additions with much more amazing ammunition Black Ops outdid its forerunner, Mw2 in it's opening week - selling nearly millions of copies more!

There are many new exciting locations for you to fight through, including Cuba, Russia, and Laos, and is as much an innovative progression forwards from Modern Warfare 2 as Modern Warfare was for Cod 2. Though the controls are familiar to those who've played the CoD franchise for years, there is lots more stealth involved with Black Ops than any game in the series up to now.

However the real meat and potatoes of any Call of Duty game, and particularly the newer ones, is of course, Multiplayer - and also the hallmark of any great multiplayer game is it's ability to make multiple hours disappear whenever you pick up the control; often without your notice. The brand new zombie multiplayer mode is as much fun and engaging as it is slightly silly.

It's obvious that this portrayal from the Cold War is just a fictional mock-up, but it is certainly entertaining. The gigantic explosions, story arcs and twists, and the 'missions' all indicate a colorful re-imagining of what things might have been like when the Cold War had played out like an explosive action movie. It's easy to separate the very fact in the fantasy, but that doesn't alter the fact that there are certain lines and scenes that are gripping and designed to evoke a visceral emotional reaction, especially the scenes of torture.

Black Ops is both a cinematic and gaming success, artfully rendered despite the fact that out, with the masterfully considered storyline that merely a big name studio and lots of investment behind you are able to create. The tale may be a bit faster paced than previous Call of Duty games, but this doesn't detract from the game; instead of a single goal that you simply work towards for an extended period of time, you might find yourself flowing from goal to goal with little time for you to pause and wonder in between - a certainly thrilling experience for me which i highly recommend for all first-person shooter fans!

Everything You Must Understand On How To Cut A Fine Cigar

By Edward Chase

When you know how to cut a fine cigar, you will then be able to enjoy smoking it fully. There are some terms associated with it, like the end that is put into the mouth is called the head, and the very tip is the cap. The cap is made from vegetable glue or sap, and this seals the wrapping to hole it together.

The cap is the part that is cut, but make sure that you don't cut all of this off. This will cause you to ruin the cigar and the whole experience for you. Before you even cut it, study the cap so you know exactly where it is and what part you really need to cut.

Cut off just a slice of this cap. It will be about the width of your fingernail. You can use cigar scissors, or cutters like a guillotine for this. Some will produce more even and better cuts, but if you are new, find one that is easy to use. Many of these can be operated with one hand and are designed to be placed and carried in a pocket.

Having a good cutter is important. They come in many styles and at many different price points. A cheap cutter can even enhance the experience for you. When you look for them, your cigar shop can help make this purchase easier since they can recommend one for your level that fives good results. They do not all cut the same, and some will offer a more even cut than others, but you should not underestimate the need for one.

Biting of the end can seem romantic, but the truth is this shows a lack of sophistication and can leave you with a bitter mouthful of tobacco leaves and wrapping. You also run the risk of ruining the cigar, and when you pay good money for the best this is a risk you don't want to take. It shows that you don't appreciate the art that goes into them and can be a costly mistake.

Only make the cut when you are ready to smoke it. This keeps the cigar fresh and the tobacco from drying out. Like a fine wine, preparing it the right way can make it more enjoyable. Cut only about a 6th of an inch off. You may find that the guillotine style is the easiest, especially as a novice smoker. Just make sire to leave some glue behind.

For those that are cone shaped on the head, look at it carefully before you cut into it. Pay attention to the widest point and then cut closer to the end, so you are not at the widest point. Remove just the tip. For those that are new to the art, this might be easier to start with, but take a little more deliberation before you cut into it to make sure that it is done right.

If you have a lot of difficulty in figuring out how to cut a fine cigar, look at it carefully and understand all the parts before you cut into it. Take your time with this step to ensure that you have a clean cut. Once you have done so, light it with a butane lighter or a match, since you want no other tastes to mix in with it. Enjoy it leisurely and at your own pace.

Book For Free Today

By Joann Dixon

If you are trying to plan your family fun time, then you want to spend some time researching online. If you know where you want to go, you may be able to find a package plan that gives you a good price for the entire trip. These plans often give a reduction in price for a family group and may mean the difference between having good accommodations and doing everything you want to do or having to scrimp and cut corners. More times than not, purchasing your accommodations, airfare, and car rental as package deals are worth the time and are usually 30 per cent cheaper than paying on an individual basis.

Utilize the airport shuttle rather than hiring a driver or taxi. You will save a lot of money this way. Renting a car at the airport is much more expensive than a shuttle. Another way to save money is to pick a hotel that provides a shuttle at no charge.

A very costly aspect to any vacation that is geared toward families is that of entrance fees. You might want to see if a location that makes you pay to get in provides cheaper tickets if you go on a particular day or if you buy the tickets on the Internet.

You can often get circulars when you arrive at your hotel that provide information on things to do and see. These may contain coupons or tell you how to get discounts on restaurants, local attractions, and even souvenirs. Do not go through all the trouble to save money and then turn around and blow a fortune on souvenirs. Decide ahead of time how much you will spend. The best time to purchase souvenirs is as your vacation comes to a close so you know where you can get what you want at the best price.

Often condos or homes are more inexpensive to rent than a hotel room. This is especially true if you are staying for a long time. The longer you stay, the more likely this is the case. You might get a condo for half the price of a hotel. Another alternative to save money is house swapping, in which case you wouldn't have to pay anything for your accommodations.

One of the worst ways to blow money is to buy your essentials when you get there. If you buy such things as sunscreen and shampoo at the hotel, you will probably pay many times the value of the product. Take your time in planning your trip by making a list of what you will need and checking it twice.

What Are The Benefits Of Organic Gardening?

By Jesse Smith

As a way to feel safer about the foods they eat, droves of people are turning to organic produce. They worry about the kinds of foods that they put into their bodies. The reason for their worry is because of all the reports of food poisoning from fruits and vegetables.

We now know just how dangerous all of those chemicals that we spray plants on can be, too. There are some chemicals that have been shown to cause cancer and so they were banned. But there are still chemicals that haven't been banned, and this means that we have yet to discover many hidden dangers.

Garden organically if you want to feel safer about the food you eat. Rather than the questionable stuff you find in grocery stores, you'll know that the food you're giving your family is healthier and safer. It's better for you and your family to eat food that won't give you cancer.

Organic gardening is also extremely beneficial to the environment for several reasons. The chemicals that were sprayed on your plants are washes off onto the ground. The chemicals then washes down into the ground and make it into groundwater.

When the insects on your plants are poisoned, they can be eaten by birds or other animals. These animals can then become sick and die. If the toxicity was high enough, any animals that eat those animals might also perish. This can have a very strong environmental impact.

If too many of a certain species of insects are killed, then the result would be an imbalance in the local wildlife. Killing off a large population of a particular insect means those animals that depend on that insect for food may also die off.

Also possible to start dying off is anything that depends on the second species for food. It's possible that the problem can become widespread causing this to spin out of control. This is unlikely, but it's not impossible. Also known for its superior flavor is organic produce.

Unlike traditionally grown carrots, organic carrots are sweeter. They're not bitter like other carrots. Even if you're worried about the chemical effects to your body and environment, this is a good reason to grow your produce organically.

Organic gardening also has a few drawbacks. Dealing with pests is different and longer and more complex. What you need to do is pick off the insects by hand and drop them into soapy water.

To prevent bugs from eating your plants, spray them with solutions made of garlic and hot pepper. It's not that easy. Instead of using chemical fertilizers, stick to organic ones.

But since you can make organic fertilizers yourself, they can be cheaper. Fish emulsion is an organic fertilizer that's quite common. It's a sort of tea made from dead fish. Another tea-like fertilizer that many organic gardeners use is seaweed fertilizer.

And of course there's natural compost that can help you make use of your kitchen waste! There are more benefits in organic gardening than there are drawbacks. It may be a bit more work, but it is so rewarding!

Why Use A Humidor For Cigar Storage And How Big Are They?

By Edward Alexander

New cigar smokers often wonder why use a humidor for cigar storage in the first place. Generally, those who may not smoke regularly may not see much benefit in having one. However, there are those who may enjoy a good cigar often enough and might like to have a fresh one ready for them, or simply for the sake of having them nearby for special occasions or guests.

These storage boxes are often made of wood and provide an ideal environment for cigars, cigarettes, pipe tobacco, as well as other items that may need preservation. Their humid environment is measure by a hygrometer, regardless of what the size of the humidor is.

They often come in many different sizes and designs, with some being harder to find than others. They're used for both commercial and personal purposes, with materials ranging from wood to acrylic glass, as well as other types as well. Spanish cedar and mahogany, however, are often the more traditional type of material that is used, although specific ones can be designed to meet a person's overall preference or style.

The size of a humidor can generally vary, again, being dependent on what one is looking for or how often they plan to actually smoke. Many consumers try to go for a more traditional-styled box to store their cigars in, but there are those who prefer to have larger-sized humidors to store things in as well. Some even prefer to have certain designs to display their cigars visibly in order to show off their impressive collections.

There are also walk-in humidors that one can choose to have professionally installed. Even though these are more commonly used by bars and stores, many people who can actually afford them often prefer to do so. This often because they're great for displaying cigars and other items. However, it's also good to make sure that you can actually use a walk-in or large-type box or cabinet well enough to ensure that it's cost-effective.

Aside from the sizes and the materials that are used, humidors typically are listed by certain classifications. There are, for instance, room humidors that are commonly found in bars and stores, as well as large-scaled cabinet ones that can often hold anything from 1000-5000 cigars, give or take. These may also hold things like collector's items or other things that require controlled temperatures.

Table humidors are another classification that are often ornately made from various materials such as marble or glass. While they're technically portable, many keep them in one spot due to their size and weight, being that they can hold several thousand pieces. The smallest versions are the personal and travel sizes, with the personal version holding up to 75 pieces, and the smaller travel type carry anything from 10 to about 40 cigars in total.

Although new cigar enthusiasts may wonder why use a humidor for cigar storage, those who smoke a considerable amount or prefer to have fresh cigars on hand can often find the benefit in having the right storage. However, there is usually some form of maintenance involved in having one, unless it has a specially-designed system to help control things more efficiently.
