Using Farmville Hay Bales To Improve Farming Efficiency

By Jeff Farmer

When you begin playing Farmville, you have a relatively small farm, and probably a small field to go along with it. It doesn't take you very long to plow and plant all of your plots.

But this won't be the case in the long run. Your farm will grow, and as it does, you will encounter a certain challenge. The challenge is getting everything done -- that is, all the planting and plowing -- in a decent amount of time. The larger the field, the more time it takes to take care of it!

It can be agonizing watching your Farmville avatar walking slowly from plot to plot, taking his or her time in plowing the land. And then when the plowing is all done, you have to repeat the process in order to plant your crops!

It's possible that a few people out there like this process. Perhaps they sit back and relax while they click the mouse, lazily watching their character do the work. In all likelihood, though, that isn't the case for you.

Most people don't have unlimited time to spend on Farmville. They have lots of things going on in their life, like school and work, so they might desire to as much farming done as possible in the little amount of time that they DO have. But it's not easy as their farm's size increases.

For these people, there's a very simple technique that they might find useful in getting more work done in a smaller amount of time. It actually eliminates the process of their Farmville avatar walking around the farm to plow, plant, or harvest.

How does it work? When you first log in to Farmville, don't do anything, and especially don't move your avatar. Instead, purchase and place hay bales all around the starting position of your avatar. It might sound a little weird, but just do it. Now try plowing, planting or harvesting. Notice anything different? Your avatar doesn't move, but you still get the work done!

It's not clear if this is a glitch or if the makers of Farmville intended this effect, but because you no longer have to wait for your farmer to walk from plot to plot to plow, plant or harvest, your work gets done much quicker. In fact, with a large field, it's probably safe to assume that this technique cuts the time it takes to get all your work done on your farm in half.

The technique isn't complicated at all, but it has far-reaching effects! With it, you can do a lot more farming in between your real-life responsibilities. Try it out!
