The 411 Of Paintball Barrels Used In Paintball

By Jerry Mcgregor

Paintball barrels are one of the important parts in playing the paintball game. For the aiming of the paint balls this barrel is used and also for controlling the gas pocket. This gas pocket is usually present at the back of the paintball barrel. Since there are different sizes of paint balls, this barrel bore are also available in different sizes.

The bore diameter, barrel length, barrel style are the important factors that has to be taken into consideration while choosing a good barrel for playing. The sliding and screwing barrels are used in the earlier versions where threading is used. Some type of basic threading are autococker, spyder, shocker, A-5, etc.

The paintball barrels are classified in to three configurations. They are one piece, two piece and three piece paintball barrels. This barrels system has a provision to exchange between the barrels so that it will be useful while playing. Usually two or three piece barrels are used.

Next factor is the length of the barrel to be used in the paintball game. The length of the paintball barrel can vary from 3 to 31 inches. Whereas if you want your shoot sound to be more silent, they the length should be more. For this case the length can go up to 48 inches.

If you want to push the inflatable bunkers while playing the game, the long barrels should be used. This advantage is obtained from the barrel of high length. But generally the length of the barrel used is 14 to 16 for accurate aiming and for control.

The paintball barrel has an inner bore in which the paintball is placed and shot. This bore should be equal in diameter to the paintball to have uniform and more velocity of the ball during shooting. If you use a two or three piece barrels, there is no need of changing the barrels.
