Morgan Freeman's Finest Roles In Years Past

By Harrison Johnson

Morgan Freeman is, in my opinion, one of the best actors of his generation. I may even go on to say he is one of the greatest actors of all time. Not to mention the fact that he is probably the best narrator of all time. I mean, that voice! Would people really buy Visa if it weren't for his voice overs?

The following movies are my top 5 favorites starring Morgan Freeman.

One movie that without question makes the cut for any list of Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins, or all time greatest movies would have to be The Shawshank Redemption. This is my personal number one film of all time and with good reason, it's a life -changing movie.

In the film Lucky Number Slevin, Freeman departs from his normal good guy role and plays an evil mob boss. In my opinion this movie is vastly underrated and if you like a good switch and bait story, look no further.

Who knew that Ben Affleck was such a great director. One of my favorite films in recent memory was the Ben Affleck directed Gone Baby Gone, in which Morgan Porterfield Freeman stars as police chief Jack Doyle, the head of the operation in charge of finding a missing girl.

Another movie that he stars in which I thoroughly enjoyed was Unleashed. Mr. Freeman plays a blind man to perfection in this film, which also stars Jet Li and is directed by Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.

Finally, in one of the best movies of the past few years, Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby has to make my list. Morgan Freeman won an Oscar for his role of the down on his luck, yet content Eddie Scrap-Iron Dupris.

If I forgot any films on this list, I apologize ahead of time. It is a tough list to make when dealing with an actor of Morgan Freeman's stature.
