Thoughts About The Most Popular Show On Earth Baywatch

By Byron Jonas

You would be forgiven if you just landed on earth from another planet and you did not know about the TV hit show called Baywatch. However, for the citizens of earth, there is hardly a country in which the show has not been aired. Therefore, it is regarded one of the most popular series of all times.

The phenomenon is so loved around the world that it has a cult status. Best known for its sexy bodies and excellent story lines, Baywatch has captured the imagination of young and old. Take David Hasselhoff for instance. He plays the role of Mitch Buchannon who is a balanced individual with strong morale ethics. He has huge sex appeal on camera and has a massive fan club. Then there is Pamela Anderson who plays J. C. Parker. She not only has a fantastic body to look at, but has plenty of brains as well. Together with their team mates, they make a winning combination on the beach.

Who could forget when the show first aired in 1990? It was a strange combination seeing bronzed bodies that were able to save lives and protect beach goers as well. Unfortunately, it did not sit well with many viewers initially and the series was subsequently canceled. This however did not deter Hasselhoff and a few other producers and directors because they knew Baywatch had huge potential.

News spread like fire and soon everyone was hooked on Baywatch. It became so popular that the Guinness Book of World Records thought it apt to give them a spot in their book namely being the most viewed TV series worldwide. More than one billion people per week throughout the world, watched it at any given time.

The show's plot had a winning mix. Not only did Hasselhoff become well loved but he and his team took part in some awesome life saving scenes. Added to this, they had interpersonal relations which was mainly centered around dangers along the beach and on sea. The hot babes and hunky guys were combined with perfect live guarding skills which was to become the show to watch.

Once a week these actors took center stage in living rooms across the world and mesmerized people as they ran in slow motion with rescue-cans in hand and a look of urgency and determination of their faces. What could be more entertaining than a couple of well-built life guards warding off exploding bombs, rescuing people in earth quakes, catching serial killers and saving the odd pooch from drowning in the sea. The combination was set for life-long success.

Not only did the series entertain, but it also highlighted real lifeguards and what they are exposed to every day. People suddenly had more respect for them and started heading their warnings on the beaches around the world. This is all thanks to the show Baywatch.
